What is a Lifegroup?
Lifegroups are made up of a group of people seeking to apply the Word to their daily lives, pray for one another and demonstrate community together. The purpose of a lifegroup is to grow spiritually in relationship with God and with others. We believe that Lifegroups are the best model for fostering deep biblical relationship and practical community. In a fast paced word, we have to create avenues for our church to taste intentional community.
How often does a Lifegroup meet?
Because Lifegroups are relational and because we want everyone to be apart, groups will meet with different regularity. Some groups will meet weekly, some will meet bi-monthly and some will meet monthly. With varying regularity, groups have the ability to incorporate and include different events and activities that they see fit to their group, such as meals, service projects or fun activities.
Where do Lifegroups meet?
Our Lifegroups meet all across different homes in the city of Ames, and some even beyond. We believe that community happens outside of the church building and have given our Lifegroup leaders the ability to choose where they think is best for their group. Because if this, our church body can find Lifegroups that are central to their own life and the environment around there.
What if I don't connect with the Lifegroup I visit?
Our goal at Lifepointe Church is to help you find meaningful relationships in which you can grow and be strengthened in your relationship with God. We are contending for Lifegroups that are full of friends and deep relationships. Because of this, we understand that it may take checking out two or three different groups to find the right fit. With that in mind, we encourage you to give each group a few weeks before trying a new one. It usually takes a few weeks for people to break the ice and begin connecting.
Are children welcomed?
We have a variety of Lifegroups that provide childcare, integrate children into their Lifegroup and those that also ask children to stay home for the night. We know that some parents want their children involved, and others would rather see a Lifegroup night as an investment in their marriage and relationship. Whatever you are looking for, we have a group for you.
What type of study does a Lifegroup follow?
The content for Lifegroups are sermon based and Bible-centered. We feel it is hard to process a truth in a single weekend service. Lifegroups are intended to provide our church community with an opportunity to apply the Word to our lives with input and insight of others.
